VOX: MP3 & FLAC Music Player App Reviews

There are some problem need to be fixed

I pretty much like this player. But there are something need to be improve 1. I drag the music from folder into collection of vox, after that if I change the name of the folder or I move the folder to another place, vox cannot trace for that, therefore I need to drag it again. That is very unconvenience, fix that will be very helpful. 2. If the name of the song or collection is too long, vox does not show it even I put the mouse pointer on it. 3. I cannot change the cover picture of the collection by dragging the picture on it.

Loop pricing concern

VOX is my favortie option for lossless files. And LOOP is a great concept which I’m completely behind. But I gotta say, $5/month is outside of my ‘no hesitations’ range. At $5/month, I think I can make due without the convenience. At $2/month (like iTunes Match), I think “I’d spend that on an app that I’ll never use.” That’s the sweet spot.

2.5.1 smooth sailing

Vox has been reliably stable and excellent for the last several versions and this one is no exception. CPU and memory demands are low and everything’s smooth. Thumbs up. Previously Version 2.3.1 - thank you for bringing back the classic playlist! With this back, Vox returns to being the king of OS X audio players. Aside from that, 2.3.1 seems to open a lot faster than earlier versions. Good stuff, thumbs up Previously: Version 2.0.1 - Vox 2 is all patched up and bugfixed, and back to being the best audio player for OS X. I bought the radio upgrade to support the developer for releasing this fantastic program - would enjoy seeing some more stations and countries in the radio menu. Where’s Peru? ;-)

Life should be simple and of great quality, same rules apply to your music player.

You know those softwares companies you buy stuff from but then never get support from them when you struggle with their products? Well, this one isn’t like that. This player is constantly getting improved and development is in part based on users suggestions. Plus, if you go .FLAC youll never go back. (Don’t worry, VOX also play your MP3 files)

Pretty Good

Pretty good, ive been using it to play my soundcloud likes so far and its been working well and I haven’t had any issues.

Super disapointing.

iTunes has become fairly useless in usablity. Sadly, it’s a nessesity for iOS. I’ve grown to hate using it and I thought VOX would be a great alternative. I snapped up VOX last year to listen to some FLAC files and decided to use it as my main music player. After all, it says it can access the itunes library, so I figure great! No more itunes! Nope, it fails to load my library. Sadly, this app is an epic fail.

issues

It worked fine for a while but now started to freak out. I try to open it and it closes on its own without even loading anything.

Disappointment

It was great for the first hour.. now it keeps crashing everytime I open it.

last update of el capitan

its docent work at all with last update el capitan crash on start up

a muddle to be avoided

You have to guess at how to do anything besides the basics, and the support material is a joke, e.g. the ‘forum or community stuff is a lot of unanswered beefs addressed to the support staff, who have recently initiated a policy of deleting old comments on the basis they weren’t answered by the community. After a trial run on Loop, their paid Cloud feature, I am being billed but can no longer log in with my account to sort out the issue. Finally, the IoS app is awful, no way to stop it, for example, navigation is obscure and help non-existent.

Had potential!

If this worked as advertised, it would’ve been the solution to so many of my problems. I’ve desperately been looking for an alternative to iTunes Match (since we all know how horrible it is) and was amazed to to come across Loop for Vox. Vox even streams Soundcloud so that was also a major plus for me…. But yeah, there is literally zero feedback or community info on the service. Support seems pretty nonexistent. And it is sooooo expensive ($99/annually). Not to mention, I can’t even log into Loop properly. I wish I had more arms so I could give this app four thumbs down.

Simple Hi FI Flac Player

Plays Flac and syncs with device and player, but pretty limited. Pono music world is a much better mac player, but takes a little tweaking.

Installed and then removed it. Weird sound

Unlike most things Apple, this application was not intuitive to work with at all. I suspect that most serious music lovers do NOT have their HiRes files in iTunes, since they aren’t supported. Getting VOX to pick up other directories was difficult as was navigating to music chioces. But above all, the sound was not natural. It just sounded weird, like being in a big bubble or something. Then there are the additions and in application purchases.

Unfortunately buggy

After the 2.0.2 update I cannot load the iTunes library, nor even submit the report that the crash-reporter window wants me to submit. Vox crashes when I try to submit the crash report, and I am stuck. Conceptually, a great concept with the options I would like, and I want to use and like it. But the bugs are irritating and wasting my time.

First version is better

The new version of vox crash several times. the first version the have bad look but this new version crash.

Audio Units do not load , Window doesnt open

They fixed the Crashes , but when I click the View tab , and select Vox AU Window , nothing happens . The original Vox media player was a Dream and centered around the ability to ADD AU effects and actually export the audio with the AU effects applied . I LOVED LOVED LOVED that version and still have the package someowhere on a Hard drive somewhere . But I was so Happy when the Update window popped up this morning with VOX saying AU effect would be available , and soooo dissapointed when the wouldnt open . Please fix this guys , your almost there .

Why some radio channels disabled?

Hello, some radio channels especially the Turkish ones lost in the app, cant find "Metro FM" "Radyo Fenomen" etc. Why? And searching a channel gives error sometimes, radio is not stable anymore.

I want only one more feature

I’m not using eq when listening music with my headphones . But if i listening through MPR’s speakers i need eq . Program can undertand headphones so can you add this feature too . I want it automatically

the audio is distorted

playing anything on my system results in distorted sound. Using Metric Halo 2882 with 10.8.4.

Finally app is acceptable and now works really nice

Last update brought many improvements and solved many problem with playing audio. There are still minor bugs (e.g. with adding network radio to favorites) but the direction is great. Great work.
